Lakeland wins, Novi wins, Howell loses, SL loses. Hate all you want, the games went as expected.

sorry about the "hate" part in the above post. Just got sick of hearing about how DOWN the KVC is. Did I think Howell would win? No (they WON their
"state title" by being co-champs in the KVC, the upper level of expectations for Howell was already attained) . Did I see South Lyon winning? No
(they had ALOT of the pieces needed to have a exceptional season, McGee, Gotham, etc., but for some reason, the fire never seemed to burn for the Lions). I
figured Lakeland would win, but honestly I thought the game would be tighter. I felt confident Novi would win, but for some reason they can't deliver the
KO when they have the opportunity. Up 13-0 to start the game, they hang on for a 13-9 final (which apparently included a goal line stand where on 4th and goal,
a defender gave up 2 of the remaining 3 feet, but held). I'm planning on attending the Stevenson v. Novi game on Friday. As it stands the, Spartans look to
be at least a 10-14 point favorite.

Good conference without a doubt. I expect Novi to go far on their side of their "bracket"
I was hoping for a S Lyon win so CC could host a home game. Knowing nothing about the Capital Area Conf other than the teams, I thought SL might pull this one out. I am guessing that Novi runs the most diverse offense in the KVC? I was told a couple years ago that SL went away from running primarily the Spread. Seems like mostly a power conference? Now I need the skinny on Lansing Everett |

BG, I thought Howell would be good for a quarter or two. Apparently, someone forgot to tell them to show up. I warned (to no one in particular) people
early that Howell might see the uniforms and helmets of CC and that would be the ballgame....looks like that was the case. More importantly, credit to CC for
SMOKING Howell on the field. I don't want in any way to sound as if CC didn't take Howell behind the woodshed( um, they did). I'm just dissapointed
that the game wasn't a game at all.
Novi has always run the most diverse offense in the league. You don't know whether they will run no huddle, wishbone, spread, or power-I from one week to the next. South Lyon HAD a good thing going with their offense a couple years ago. I think there was a philosophy change when Scheloske stepped down as head coach, and they've gone with their current O ever since. A lot of people have gotten down on Milford this year for their season, but I think South Lyon is almost as dissapointing (for me). You see the personel they had returning, and you wonder why they never put together a better season???? I've said it before, The Lions just seemed to be missing the mojo this year, I have no other explanation??? maybe they didn't "buy" into the coach this year? As for Novi's chances to make a deep run......who knows??? They will face the best team they've seen ALL year next Friday in Stevenson. Can Novi win the game? Yeah, for sure. They won't be intimidated in the least by Livonia Stevenson (Coach K has a way of shrinking the giants in his kid's path). That being said, Novi will need to be a MUCH better team on Friday to somehow swipe a win from the Spartans. I favor the Spartans by 10-14 points as of today. IF (IF IF IF IF) Novi somehow manages to BEAT Stevenson, then I'd look for Novi to at very least be a final 4 team (if their "LUCK" holds out...gotta give props to all the people saying they get lucky every week). Lakeland MIGHT be the team to watch from the KVC. I've liked their team/approach since the Novi/Lakeland game. I think they could make some noise in Division 2. |

We'll see. You say Stevenson will be the best team Novi has faced all year... maybe. But Novi will be the best team Stevenson has played this year also.
Novi seems to play to the competition. It's just the way it's been for a long time. It should be a great game. Novi's won all of their road games, so I know they don't mind playing on the road. I know for sure they'll be happy playing on Turf. |

Statman, not concerned about Novi playing Stevenson. I agree with your rationale as well. Just gonna lay low in the weeds, you know. Let's focus
on Lakeland this week

sry novi, but u will not get past Stevenson next weeek, they are out of your league, they are out of everyone's league in the KVC and WLAA
especially after that victory friday night, which should have been a loss if it werent for churchill's poor play calling on the goaline, novi was manhandled in the second half im calling in the tradional stevenson score, 37 - 10 |

BG,
Everett's spread attack relies on its QB, who is small, yet very fast, shifty, and has an above average arm. When teams start to focus on him too much, the RB's are good enough to gash you for yardage. The defense can be beaten, as they tend to get undisciplined. If you run right at them, and do it frequently, you will wear them down. They did not give up a ton of points outside the Holt game, and Holt used their physical play to rule the line of scrimmage. Don't sleep on their offense, though, or they will put up a ton of points on somebody. "The common man revels in HAVING WON. The champion finds his satisfaction in WINNING." - F.H. Yost

Yeah, you're the best game predicter I've ever seen. The way you picked the FAVORITE to beat the UNDERDOG was brilliance! Alot of people thought Novi
could win because they are regularly BETTER than Stevenson. This year Stevenson has a better team. Congrats to you for being a fan of the WLAA!!! Woohoo!!!
Yippeee! Just hope they can stay out of trouble OFF the field, especially on the Saturday night after a big win.

Ok, Stevenson went undefeated in the WLAA this year, woopie! I bet a handfull of KVC teams could have done the same, also it could be a better idea to show better sportsmanship with your new found football "success" and assuming you may have some again someday, you represent your program a bit more respectively (your school tradition and program compared to a Novi) is inferior, you cant say anything to Novi, except good game and get prepared for next week and not talk your hype about last week. Put Stevenson up in the KVC, there is a good chance they would NOT have been undefeated.

LHS, I'm going to chalk it up to it only being his/her 4th ever post. I do hope we can avoid an MLIVE element to this forum. I'll treat them
with respect, just ask for the same in return...lol

It's too bad the powers (wussies) that be decided they didn't want a championship game. It's also a shame that they let the "weaker"
teams "randomly" draw other "weaker" teams. The only person who didn't whine and argue for a weaker schedule was Burkholder from
Pinckney, and he drew Canton. Burkholder may not be winning at Pinckney, but he is a quality individual who has integrity. He won't back down from a
challenge. This year, instead of taking the easy way out, he decides to play Milford twice so as not to deprive his players of nine games. Big respect to
Burkholder.
